The three sessions of our 2016 summer program aim to advance students’ artistic development and broaden the realm of their possibilities through unique curricula designed and taught by a stellar faculty. The sessions provide advanced training in ballet and modern technique, the study of William Forsythe’s Improvisational Technologies and Ohad Naharin’s Gaga movement language conducted by their personal representatives Alessio Silvestrin and Bobbi Jene Smith, the study of Mr. Naharin's repertory, and the development of new works with Alessio, Alex Ketley, Bobbi, Christian Burns, Courtney Mazeika, Eli Nelson, and Joni Tuttle McDonald.
While Messrs. Forsythe and Naharin are perhaps best known internationally as ground-breaking, contemporary choreographers, they independently developed Improvisational Technologies and Gaga over the course of many years as proprietary systems to help dancers expound upon and refine their choices as movers and thinkers. The opportunity for dancers to gain in-depth exposure to their teachings is rare, and we are delighted to welcome back the representatives of such distinguished choreographers to work with program participants.
