Session 3
Open to advanced dancers ages 14-23
July 8 to August 3, 2013 (4 weeks)
Batsheva dancer Bobbi Smith will teach Gaga classes and set selected works from Mr. Naharin’s repertory.
Highly-challenging ballet and modern technique classes taught by Summer Lee Rhatigan, Christian Burns, Alex Ketley, Chiharu Shibata and Tristan Ching will provide the daily laboratory in which experimentation, focus and physical commitment lay the groundwork for uninhibited collaboration in the choreographic process with Bobbi, Christian, Alex, Summer, Tristan, Eli Nelson and Malinda LaVelle and guest artists.
As the program days are 8-10 hours long, six days a week, we are careful to accept dancers who demonstrate not only great passion for their art form, but also physical strength, stamina and mental fortitude.
Session 3 will culminate in two theater performances on:
- Friday, August 2rd, 7:30 pm at Z Space/Theater Artaud
- Saturday, August 3th, 2 pm at Z Space/Theater Artaud
Tuition for Session 3: $2,200
